The RKD has existed since 1932 and over the years has grown into one of the world's most important art history knowledge institue. Thanks to the support of the public, volunteers, funds and sponsors, we can continue our work. Do you care about the RKD?
You can support us in various ways.
The Friends of the RKD contribute to the maintenance, presentation and expansion of the collection. Support from the Friends has made possible the acquisition of exceptional objects, including letters from Piet Mondrian and Theo van Doesburg. They have supported projects such as the Biennial Summer Institute for Netherlandish Art for outstanding students from all over the world, as well as publications such as Treasures of the RKD and Wandelen over de Utrechtse stadswal (A stroll along Utrecht’s city walls).
Donations whether large or small are greatly appreciated. They are vital in helping the RKD to realise important purchases and activities. The RKD is a cultural charity (ANBI in Dutch), which means that donors can make full use of the tax allowances of the Charitable Donations Act. Donations can be one-off or regular.
The RKD regularly calls on the help of the public through crowdsourcing, especially for digitisation projects. Many hands make light work. Would you like to join us?
Many funds have contributed in recent years to projects, publications, acquisitions and activities initiated by the RKD. Their contributions are an indispensable link in the realisation of the RKD's mission: to make knowledge, research and information on the art of the Netherlands in about Netherlandish art in an international context, for museums, the academic community and the general public alike.
