Are you curious about an art work which you own? Would you like to know more about the artist, style or genre and the period during which it was made? Or perhaps you have a letter or archive of an artist which you would like to have assessed? The RKD offers the service of conducting art historical research.
Conducting art historical research starts with one hour of research and costs € 165 (including 21% VAT). The results of the research are sent in the form of a digital report. The statements issued by the RKD on an art work are the result of art historical research by one or more staff members and cannot be regarded as expertise. The RKD does not make statements about the value of art works. If you need an art appraisal, please contact an auction house, art dealer or art appraiser. We cannot carry out technical analyses on works of art.
