The RKD is building a sustainable future and becoming a knowledge centre
The RKD is building for the future with confidence and is committed to a more focused direction as a knowledge centre. This new positioning requires careful decision-making. Among other things, this means that some aspects of our services may differ from what you are used to in the coming period.
From research institute to knowledge centre
For decades, we have been there for the professionals and students conducting art-historical research. We wish to further strengthen this role by building a strong and sustainable foundation for the future.
For this reason, we are transitioning from a research institute to a knowledge centre. In this capacity, we manage, provide access to, and connect our extensive physical and digital collections on the visual arts of the Low Countries. In addition, we offer high-quality, digitally accessible data and services that support your art historical research.
Impact on our services
Our staff remain available to answer questions and assist you in consulting our collection. We are currently unable to accept new applications for art historical research due to capacity constraints.
We will keep you informed via our website and newsletter.
