Curriculum vitae and duties

Ton Geerts studied Art History & Archaeology at Utrecht University. He worked for several years at the Bilderdijk Museum in Amsterdam and for the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences. Between 1998 and 2009, he was a curator at the Rijksmuseum Twenthe in Enschede, where he organized over forty exhibitions in both old and modern art. 

Since 2009, he has been working at the RKD as a senior curator of modern and contemporary art. He contributed to several digital publications in the RKD Studies series (Jan Sluijters, Peter Vos, Charles Donker, Frans Pannekoek, and Art & Project). He publishes on a wide range of visual arts topics, focusing in recent years particularly on art and artists' books from the 1960-1980 period.
