Medewerker RKD Dominique Jurgen

Dominique completed a Bachelor's degree in Art History at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU) from 2012 to 2015. During her studies, she interned at the RKD, conducting research on nineteenth-century Dutch and Flemish artists who travelled to Italy. As part of this research, she spent two weeks in Florence at the NIKI. Thereafter, she completed a Master's degree in Art History at Utrecht University. During this time, she did an internship at Museum Flehite in Amersfoort, where she conducted research on the Amersfoort artist Jordanus Hoorn. Dominique wrote her master's thesis on how (Dutch) painters depicted national history in the nineteenth century.

After gaining diverse experiences in the cultural sector, she returned to the RKD as an information specialist in 2022. Dominique is responsible for the acquisition of books for the library (art up to 1800) and is responsible for the registration of these publications. Besides, she provides instructions to new employees, interns and associate researchers regarding the entry of data into the databases RKDimages and Artists4All. She also performs data entry tasks herself and verifies the work of others. Moreover, she can often be found at the RKD counters to support visitors with their research and provide them with information about the RKD.
