In memoriam: Volker Manuth (1956 – 2026)
It is with sadness that we have learned of the passing of Prof. Dr. Volker Manuth.
Volker Manuth was a distinguished art historian who maintained close ties with the RKD, serving as a member of the Supervisory Board and as editor of the art-historical periodical Oud Holland. His scholarly significance is reflected, among other accomplishments, in his contribution to the Rembrandt Research Project, the archives of which are permanently preserved in our collection. Through his expertise, dedication, and commitment, he made a lasting contribution to both the field of art history and our organization. We are deeply grateful for all that he meant to us and will remember him with great appreciation.
