Lecture Unknown Ideals by Zach Blas

On Friday 6 June, Visiting Fellow Dr Zach Blas will give a lecture at the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam. Through his critical examination of the intersections between technology, identity, and society, Blas has established a meaningful voice in contemporary art. In the lecture Unknown Ideals, he will explore digital technologies and their impact on society and visual art.
Zach Blas is an artist, filmmaker, writer and Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto. He works within the field of theory, performance art and science fiction. Blas has been exploring the impact of technological culture, including surveillance, patterning and facial recognition, on human existence. Through his work, he pushes the boundaries of contemporary art and fosters the discussion on privacy, autonomy and the future of human interaction in a technologically driven world.
