During her studies, she interned at the RKD, conducting research on nineteenth-century Dutch and Flemish artists who travelled to Italy. As part of this research, she spent two weeks in Florence at the NIKI. Thereafter, she completed a Master's degree in Art History at Utrecht University. During this time, she did an internship at Museum Flehite in Amersfoort, where she conducted research on the Amersfoort artist Jordanus Hoorn. Dominique wrote her master's thesis on how (Dutch) painters depicted national history in the nineteenth century.
From 2022 to March 2025, Dominique worked as information specialist at Collections. She was responsible for the acquisition of books for the library (art up to 1800) and the registration of these publications. She also instructed new employees, interns and associate researchers on how to enter data in the RKDimages and Artists4All databases. She could also regularly be found at the RKD desks to support visitors with their research and provide them with information about the RKD.
Since 1 April 2025 Dominique is product owner of RKD Research. Together with the development team and the organisation, she translates user needs and strategic goals into concrete product functionalities and ensures the continuous improvement of digital services.
